SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield Technical Community College announces the appointment of Dr. David DiMattio as Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs following a comprehensive and competitive search process.
The selection process included a review of 50 applications, multiple interviews with a representative search committee and a campus visit that featured an open forum.

Dr. Christopher Thuot, Vice President of Academic Affairs at 十大彩票平台, extended gratitude to the search committee and the campus community for their active engagement throughout this process.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. David DiMattio to our Academic Affairs team,” Thuot said. “His wealth of experience in academic leadership combined with his passion for student success and innovation, makes him an outstanding addition to 十大彩票平台. Working with our faculty and administrators to implement data-informed initiatives, Dr. DiMattio will play a pivotal role in advancing the College's student-centered academic mission.”
DiMattio brings over two decades of higher education experience to 十大彩票平台. He began his academic career as a faculty member at St. Bonaventure University in New York, where he earned tenure and advanced to the rank of Associate Professor. Since 2006, he has held several administrative positions, including Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dean of STEM and Interim Dean of Health.

His leadership roles also include serving as Campus Vice President and Vice President for Workforce Development at Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Clarke University in Iowa. Most recently, DiMattio served as Dean for the School of Science and Mathematics and Interim Executive Dean of Academic Success and Strategic Operations at Connecticut State Community College.

In his role at 十大彩票平台, DiMattio will oversee key areas, including Early College, Grants, the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, and Assessment. He will also lead efforts to foster a culture of assessment and support the adoption of high-impact practices in collaboration with faculty.
DiMattio began his role as Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs on Dec. 9.
